Condensate Drain
Common Questions
What does the condensate drain do?
When your mini split cools the air, it pulls moisture out of it, and that moisture has to go somewhere. The condensate drain is the line that carries that water away from the indoor air handler and out of your home.
Why is water dripping from my indoor unit?
A clogged condensate drain is one of the most common reasons people see water dripping from their indoor unit. Algae, debris, or sediment backs the line up, and the water that should be leaving ends up on your wall or floor instead.
Is a clogged condensate drain a hard fix?
Clearing it is usually straightforward. Where it gets stubborn is a drain line that was not installed with a proper slope — then it becomes a recurring problem, and the fix is the routing rather than the cleaning. Routine maintenance catches it early.
